IGCC CAPTAIN ALEX JOE TUOYO PLEDGES CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT

ASABA — Captain Alex Joe Tuoyo of the Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC), Asaba, has pledged to sustain the development of the club and build on its achievements as he settles into office.

Captain Tuoyo made the commitment during his inaugural golf championship held at the club, where members and prominent golfers commended his leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to move the club forward.

Speaking at the tournament, Tuoyo thanked members for their support, unity and commitment to the growth of the club, assuring that his administration would remain focused on initiatives aimed at strengthening the IGCC and promoting sporting excellence.

He said the club would continue to provide an atmosphere that encourages friendship, participation and excellence while pursuing programmes capable of advancing its development.

The Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, former IGCC Captain, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, and other golfers at the event commended Tuoyo's leadership qualities.

They described him as a focused and trustworthy leader with strong administrative capacity, urging him to sustain the momentum and continue working towards taking the club to greater heights.

Meanwhile, Charles Okoh emerged winner of the IGCC Captain's Inaugural Golf Championship after recording 72 Nett, finishing ahead of Sunday Okorie and Victor Oluwatobi, who placed second and third respectively.

In the women's category, Angela Uwabor claimed the top prize with 69 Nett, while Deborah Emifonye and Edeth Umeh finished second and third respectively.

The Super Veterans category was won by the immediate past Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, Professor Ben Oghojafor, with 79 Nett. Udobi Ibe and Edward Evroh placed second and third respectively.

Felix Gheghor emerged winner of the Veterans Men's category with 74 Nett, ahead of Henry Onianwa and Ike Oduah.

Former Lady Captain of the club, Mrs. Hetty Egbai, won the Veterans Women's category with 84 Nett, while Ebele Egwuyenga and Nkechi Nwanekeze came second and third respectively.

In the Guest Men's category, Ladi Ogumpitan took the top prize with 74 Nett, while Patience Jones won the Guest Women's category with 77 Nett.

The tournament ended with the presentation of trophies to winners across the various categories.

A major highlight of the event was the cutting of a birthday cake by Mrs. Priscillia Alex, wife of Captain Joe Alex Tuoyo, whose birthday celebration formed part of activities marking the inaugural golf tournament of her husband.
