The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, on the occasion of his fifth coronation anniversary.

Guwor described the five years of Ogiame Atuwatse III on the throne as a period marked by purposeful leadership, peace-building, cultural resurgence and commitment to the unity and progress of the Itsekiri people.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker joined millions of well-wishers in celebrating what he described as a significant milestone symbolising continuity, tradition and stability.

According to Guwor, the Olu's reign has brought renewed dignity to the traditional institution while promoting development across the Warri Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria.

He said the monarch's royal stewardship had demonstrated stability, visionary leadership and values that complement the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The Speaker noted that the collaboration between the traditional institution and government remained important to achieving sustainable development and peace in the state.

Guwor also commended Ogiame Atuwatse III for his advocacy in the areas of peace, youth empowerment, education and economic development.

He said the Olu's vision for a prosperous and united Delta was consistent with the principles of good governance, adding that his leadership had strengthened the relationship between the traditional institution and democratic governance.

“As Speaker and member representing Warri South West Constituency, I celebrate a reign that has brought dignity to the throne of the Itsekiri Nation and has strengthened collaboration between the traditional institution and government,” Guwor said.

The Speaker, on behalf of the leadership and members of the Delta State House of Assembly and the people of Warri South West Constituency, prayed for long life, good health, wisdom and a peaceful and glorious reign for the monarch.

He wished Ogiame Atuwatse III and the entire Itsekiri nation a joyous and memorable fifth coronation anniversary, with many more years of wisdom and service to the people.
