It was jubilation galore in Kolokolo and Tisun riverine communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State as residents rolled out drums to celebrate the completion of a 3.1 kilometer road linking the two communities.

The residents, who described the road as a dream come true, said movement between the communities had for decades been nightmarish despite hosting major oil and gas operations, and thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for remembering them through his MORE Agenda.

The Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, who inspected the project, was given a rousing welcome by elated residents, community elders and youths of both communities.

Hon Clark, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of job done, commended the contractor, Ocean Explorers Nigeria Limited, for delivering the project in line with approved standards and specifications.

He also thanked President Bola Tinubu for providing the financial support that has enabled Governor Oborevwori to execute landmark projects across the 25 local government areas of the state.

Community leaders and residents, including Victoria Omajugho, Gabriel Utieyintsola, Frederick Kuke, Tuemi Mene and Comrade Ofeoritse Tonukarin, said the road would improve transportation, boost economic activities and enhance access to essential services.

For his part, the General Manager of Ocean Explorers Nigeria Limited, Mr. Muobor Krubu, disclosed that the project, awarded in September 2025, features rigid pavement, drainage channels on both sides, access slabs and concrete culverts at designated locations.

He thanked the state government for the confidence reposed in the company.

The inspection tour featured town hall meetings where stakeholders called for sustained development in riverine areas and pledged support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The residents said they now look forward to the formal commissioning of the road by the Governor.
