The Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Agofure Onoriode, has charged members of the City Boy Movement, Agbarho Chapter, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work towards delivering President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Hon. Agofure, who serves as Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Agbarho Chapter, gave the charge during the movement's inaugural meeting held in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

He urged members to strengthen the movement's existing political structure, engage residents, and develop strategies for mobilising support at the polling-unit level. According to him, the meeting was convened to enable members to familiarise themselves with one another, identify challenges, and develop practical approaches to achieving the movement's political objectives.

"The party must acknowledge public concerns about its image and work towards rebuilding confidence through sustained engagement with the people without division," he said. "Campaigns and rallies are good, but after the rallies, we must return to our various communities and work to ensure that we deliver the expected results."

Emphasising the importance of grassroots participation, the Commissioner described polling units as critical to electoral success and urged ward leaders and other coordinators to take their responsibilities seriously.

"Elections are won from the unit to the ward levels and that is why we must be united for our party and deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all other APC candidates at the 2027 elections," he stated.

He called on members to contribute ideas on how to strengthen the movement, address challenges, and improve coordination ahead of the elections. He also warned against underestimating political opponents, insisting that every voter mattered and that victory would require hard work, commitment, and strategic planning.

Hon. Agofure urged members to work within the existing City Boy Movement structure rather than establish parallel groups, noting that the organisation already had coordinators at the state, local government, and ward levels.

He stressed the need for effective monitoring of election results from polling units to collation centres, urging members to familiarise themselves with the electoral process. He added that the movement must prioritise listening to the people, understanding their concerns, and addressing issues capable of affecting public confidence in the party.

The Commissioner acknowledged that political participation did not always yield immediate personal benefits for members but urged them to remain committed to their collective objectives. He noted that the forthcoming elections required unity, dedication, and sustained engagement with the grassroots rather than reliance on political structures alone.

He urged the Agbarho Chapter to work collectively towards supporting Tinubu, Oborevwori, and other APC candidates, stressing that members had important roles to play in the party's electoral efforts.
