He said Uduaghan, a medical doctor who governed Delta State from 2007 to 2015, would be remembered for his leadership style, compassion and commitment to the development of the state.
According to him, the former governor led with a listening heart and approached governance with the patience and dedication of a physician attending to a patient.
“You did not rule us, you treated us. You diagnosed our pains, you prescribed progress, you built with the patience of a physician,” Areh stated.
He recalled Uduaghan's vision of a “Delta Beyond Oil,” noting that the former governor believed in the potential of the state's people beyond its natural resources.
Areh said the vision reflected Uduaghan's belief in building a society where the people could thrive through opportunities and sustainable development.

“Rest well, Your Excellency. Your memory will forever remain in our hearts, and your legacy will endure in the lives of those you touched,” he said.
He concluded: “Go well, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, Physician of Delta, Father to many, Boss to me. Your light never dies. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
