Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Youth Mobilisation, Hon. (Chief) Lucky Blessing Odiakachukwu Abuah, has commended the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Olorogun Innocent Esewezie, for facilitating the inspection of the Ibusa Substation by the Delta State Ministry of Power and Energy as part of efforts to deliver a 24-hour electricity supply to the Ibusa corridor.
Abuah gave the commendation following the inspection visit to the facility by the Commissioner for Power and Energy, Engr. Michael Ifeanyi Anoka (FNSE, Ph.D), describing the exercise as a major step towards addressing the longstanding power challenges facing Ibusa and neighbouring communities.
According to him, the collaboration between the Delta State Government and the Oshimili North Local Government Council demonstrates the commitment of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration to improving critical infrastructure and enhancing the living standards of residents across the state.
The Governor's aide praised both the state government and the local government council for working together on the pilot electricity initiative, which is aimed at providing stable and uninterrupted power supply to communities within the Ibusa corridor.
He also appealed to the Ministry of Power and Energy to ensure the speedy implementation of the project, noting that reliable electricity remains essential for economic growth, industrial development and improved service delivery.
Abuah further stated that Olorogun Esewezie has continued to demonstrate visionary leadership by working closely with relevant stakeholders to attract developmental projects that will positively impact the lives of the people.
He described the substation inspection as a significant milestone that would pave the way for sustainable power solutions capable of stimulating economic activities, attracting investments and creating employment opportunities for residents.
The move to provide 24-hour electricity to the Ibusa corridor is a welcome development that will transform businesses, support industrial growth and improve the overall socio-economic wellbeing of the people, Abuah said.
The proposed initiative is expected to boost commercial activities, strengthen local enterprises, improve productivity and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Ibusa and surrounding communities.
