A show of political solidarity was witnessed in Warri North Local Government Area on Wednesday as Dr. Maurice Ojo-Ede, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Affairs, led more than 1,000 supporters on a solidarity march in support of President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The march, which moved through major streets and communities in the area, terminated at Koko Garage, Koko, where party faithful and supporters gathered to reaffirm their commitment to the APC and its candidates.

The participants, who turned out in large numbers, chanted solidarity songs and expressed confidence in the party's chances in the forthcoming elections, declaring their support for an APC victory across all elective positions.

Addressing the crowd, Ojo-Ede said the march was organised to demonstrate appreciation for the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, particularly their development initiatives and interventions across the country and Delta State.

He said the Oborevwori administration had made visible efforts to improve infrastructure and service delivery, adding that the people of Warri North had reasons to support a government whose projects and policies were making an impact across communities.

According to him, the administration's interventions in road construction, healthcare and other critical sectors were evidence of its commitment to improving the living conditions of Deltans.

Ojo-Ede particularly highlighted developments in the health sector, noting that the provision of modern medical equipment, including MRI machines, and improvements in healthcare facilities had strengthened access to medical services in the state.

He said the ongoing attention to primary healthcare centres and road infrastructure in different communities further demonstrated the administration's determination to spread development across the state.

The governor's aide urged residents to translate their support into votes in 2027, insisting that the APC was determined to secure victory at all levels.

He said the party was targeting an overwhelming majority of the votes in Warri North and called on supporters to mobilise their families, friends and neighbours ahead of the elections.

"We are not here merely to talk. We are here to demonstrate our commitment through our votes. We want to see President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned as President and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori re-elected in 2027," he said.

Ojo-Ede also called for support for the party's candidates, including Hon. Orode Uduaghan for the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi for the House of Representatives and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for the Senate.

He urged party members to remain united, peaceful and vigilant throughout the electoral process, stressing the importance of protecting their votes and ensuring that their choices count.

Also speaking, the Councillor representing Koko Ward 5, Hon. Rachel Ede, commended the organisers and participants for turning out in large numbers, describing the march as a demonstration of the growing political engagement and solidarity among APC supporters in the area.

She urged women and youths to take an active role in the party's mobilisation efforts, noting that grassroots participation would be crucial to its success in the 2027 elections.

Ede called on residents to assess the performance of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations and make informed decisions at the polls, adding that sustained support for the APC would help consolidate ongoing development efforts.

In his remarks, the Warri North Local Government Coordinator of Soft Nigeria, Engr. Romeo Itor, said the march reflected the determination of supporters to strengthen the party's presence at the grassroots.

Itor emphasised the need for sustained mobilisation beyond rallies and public declarations, urging supporters to take the APC's message to their respective communities and encourage greater participation in the electoral process.

He said the support base of the party could be strengthened through unity, effective communication and continued engagement with residents.

The march ended with renewed calls for party cohesion and support for the APC's five-over-five electoral ambition in Delta State.
