LOVE IN BARCELONA: NICHOLAS AZINGE III, HAYLEY SIMPSON TIE THE KNOT IN GRAND STYLE

BARCELONA, SPAIN — It was four days of love, culture, glamour and celebration as Nicholas Azinge III, son of former Delta State Commissioner for Health, Hon. Chief (Prof.) Sir Nick Azinge, married his sweetheart, Miss Hayley Simpson, in a colourful wedding celebration in Barcelona, Spain.

The elaborate celebration attracted more than 200 family members, friends and well-wishers from Nigeria and different parts of the world, as the Azinge and Simpson families came together to celebrate the union of the young couple.

The celebrations opened on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with a welcome party and reception for guests arriving from different parts of the world. The gathering provided an opportunity for family members and friends to reconnect and welcome guests ahead of the main wedding activities.

The following day, Thursday, September 17, featured the traditional wedding ceremony, bringing together members of the Azinge Royal Family of Asaba, friends and well-wishers to celebrate the union of Nicholas and Hayley.

The main wedding ceremony took place on Friday, September 18, at one of Barcelona's historic castle venues and was marked by elegance, fashion and romance.

Nicholas looked dashing in his tuxedo, while Hayley and the women in attendance added colour and glamour to the occasion in elegant evening gowns and fascinators.

The ceremony was filled with sumptuous meals, music, dancing and joyful moments as family members and friends gathered to witness and celebrate the couple's journey into marriage.

The Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi (Prof.) Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, was represented at the celebration by Ogbueshi-Nnabo Chief Toni Mordi, Esq., the Ezoti of Asaba Kingdom.

In his goodwill message, the Asagba congratulated Nicholas and Hayley and prayed for God's blessings upon their marriage. He also prayed for safe travels for the more than 200 guests who journeyed to Barcelona for the celebration.

The Asagba urged the couple to live together in peace and love, while praying for the fruit of the womb.

The goodwill message was followed by the traditional breaking of kola nut, while libation was performed by the oldest Asaba man present, Ogbueshi Okey Ofili.

The celebration continued on Saturday, September 19, with a special Thank-You Old School Boat Cruise Party hosted by the Ugobueze of Asaba Kingdom, Chief (Prof.) Nick Azinge, and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Rita Azinge, the Ugonwane of Asaba.

During the boat cruise, Chief Nick Azinge expressed appreciation to the guests for making the journey to Barcelona to celebrate with his family.

He thanked them for the sacrifices involved in attending the wedding, including flight tickets, hotel accommodation, transportation and the time taken away from work and other commitments.
Later that same Saturday, Nicholas Azinge III hosted a Thank-You Beach Party, giving the newlyweds, family members, friends and well-wishers another opportunity to relax, dance and celebrate together.

The four-day celebration was widely described by guests as a memorable gathering filled with love, family, culture, fashion, food, music and friendship.

From the opening reception to the traditional wedding, grand ceremony, boat cruise and beach party, each event added a special moment to the celebration of Nicholas and Hayley's love story.
