DSSIP TO CREATE DATABASE FOR VULNERABLE DELTANS

The Delta State Social Investment Programme, DSSIP, is planning to establish a comprehensive database of vulnerable residents as part of preparations for the implementation of its social intervention programmes.

The General Manager of DSSIP, Chief Henry Sakpra, has said accurate data will be critical to ensuring that government interventions reach the right people.

Chief Sakpra said the proposed database would help the agency identify and understand the needs of vulnerable groups across the state while reducing duplication and improving the coordination of social investment interventions.

He said DSSIP would engage relevant government institutions, communities, and other stakeholders in the data-gathering process.

The General Manager notes that the approach would also provide a basis for monitoring beneficiaries and assessing the effectiveness of programmes when implementation begins.

He assured that the agency was working towards putting the necessary structures in place for a transparent and coordinated social investment system in Delta.
