The Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, has commended the Delta State Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, for his commitment to promoting the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The monarch also declared the support of the Asaba Kingdom for Tinubu, Oborevwori and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Azinge made the declaration at his palace in Asaba when Funkekeme and his team paid him a congratulatory visit on the occasion of his second anniversary on the throne.

The first-class traditional ruler said he had followed Funkekeme’s mobilisation efforts across Delta State in support of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, describing his commitment as commendable.

He particularly praised Funkekeme’s presentation at a recent meeting with the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, where he explained the benefits of the reforms introduced by the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations.

“Let me commend you. You have shown passion and commitment. You are everywhere marketing the President’s and Governor’s messages. I saw what you did at the Traditional Rulers Council. You spoke so well.

“Please keep it up. Your efforts will not be in vain. You will surely be remembered when the time for compensation comes,” the monarch said.

Azinge said traditional institutions had a responsibility to support purposeful leadership, adding that the Asaba Kingdom was firmly behind the Tinubu-led Federal Government and the Oborevwori administration in Delta State.

Recounting his engagement with the President in March last year, when Delta State was still governed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the monarch said he had presented the concerns of his people to Tinubu, who subsequently acted on them.

He said he later informed Governor Oborevwori of the development and that the governor was pleased with the outcome.

The monarch acknowledged that the Tinubu administration’s reforms had imposed difficulties on Nigerians but expressed optimism that the policies were repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development.

He also commended Oborevwori’s performance in office, saying the governor had demonstrated the capacity to deliver on his mandate.

“We are in total support of President Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all candidates of the APC,” Azinge declared.

Earlier, Funkekeme, who also serves as Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor on SERVICOM and Labour Relations, congratulated the monarch on his second anniversary on the throne, describing his reign as impactful and transformative for Asaba.

Funkekeme, who said he had lived in Asaba since the creation of Delta State in 1991, noted that the state capital had witnessed remarkable improvements and greater royal distinction since Azinge ascended the throne.

He prayed God to grant the monarch greater wisdom, good health and a long, peaceful and prosperous reign.
