A new political pressure group, the Ukwuani Strike Force, was formally unveiled today in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State.
The group, convened by former member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Ukwuani Constituency, Hon. Alphonsus Ojo, says its core mandate is to mobilize grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and drive the APC 5/5 agenda across all polling units in Ukwuani ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In what observers described as a strategic grassroots move, the group inaugurated Ward Coordinators and executive members across all wards in the LGA.
According to the organizers, over 500 members have already enlisted across Ukwuani LGA.
Addressing supporters, Hon. Ojo, who is the Founder and Convener of the group, stressed the importance of building the structure down to polling unit level.
“Capacity is not just about mere words, but about what people can physically see in what you carry, what you have achieved and the demonstration of your leadership prowess. We must replicate this structure across all polling units to have a firm grip of the electoral process”, Ojo said.
The inauguration ceremony attracted party leaders and chieftains including Engr. Dan Ossai, APC Delta North Chairman; Hon. Monday Ibobo; Chief Ifeanyi Ossai; Barr. Ugo Ijeoma; Chief Anamati Charles, Secretary, Joy Group; Chief Celestine Egbe; Mrs. Modupe Odigidawu, Vice Chairman, APC Ward 1; Hon. Melvin Ogbuta, Councilor, Ward 1; and Hon. Joyce Ebinum, Councilor, Ward 9, among others.
Supporters at the venue described Hon. Ojo as a grassroots politician with wide acceptability in Ukwuani.
The Ukwuani Strike Force says it will begin immediate ward-to-ward and unit-to-unit sensitization in the coming weeks.
According to them. APC 5/5 is the goal.
