ANCOPSS DELTA STATE HAILS AMORI'S EDUCATION LEGACY, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR OBOREVWORI, TINUBU 2027 RE-ELECTIONS

The executive of the All Nigeria Congregation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Delta State Chapter, led by its President, Dibie Lucky-Jones, today paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ighoyota Amori, at his office in Asaba.

The Chief Adviser, who served as Delta State's pioneer Commissioner for Education from 1999 to 2003, received the delegation with characteristic warmth and hospitality.

It will be recalled that at a time when there were no separate ministries for Primary, Secondary, or Higher Education, Sen. Amori singlehandedly superintended all levels of the education sector with remarkable vision; building four tertiary institutions across the state and delivering quality educational infrastructure to primary and secondary schools statewide.

Speaking during the visit, Dibie Lucky-Jones and members of the ANCOPSS executive hailed Sen. Amori for his enduring contributions to education in the state, describing his tenure as Commissioner as a benchmark for purposeful leadership in the sector.

The delegation also commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for key welfare interventions for workers in the education sector, particularly the approval of the 13th month salary for civil servants and the elevation of primary school teachers' retirement grade level to 17; a long-standing demand of teachers' unions in the state that had remained unresolved for years. The principals described both measures as evidence of a government genuinely committed to the welfare and dignity of its workforce.

Responding, Sen. Amori reassured the delegation of the government's continued commitment to the welfare of its workers, noting that such interventions were part of deliberate efforts to increase the purchasing power of the people. He explained that this, in turn, would improve the state's economy and support a better livelihood for many homes and businesses across Delta State.

In appreciation of these strides in governance and education, the ANCOPSS Delta State executive pledged their overwhelming support for the re-election of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as governor of Delta state and Sen. Bola Tinubu as president in 2027 general elections.

The visit stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of purposeful leadership Sen. Amori established in Delta State's education sector; a legacy that continues to inspire confidence in the administration's commitment to education under the leadership of His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State.
